Conductive Keratoplasty (CK)
Conductive Keratoplasty uses high frequency radio waves to produce heat rather than a laser.
It is most suitable for patients who did not need glasses most
of their lives and now find themselves dependent on reading glasses
to possibly read a menu or work on your computer. If you are over
40, and are noticing these difficulties with your vision, CK may
be for you! The CK procedure uses topical anesthesia and takes
just minutes to perform. Farsightedness occurs when the shape of
the cornea is too flat. As light enters your eye it is not focused
correctly on your retina, which affects your vision. With CK, the
corneal tissue contracts and steepens the cornea to achieve the
desired refractive effect. A thin probe (thinner than a human hair)
is used to deliver the energy to the cornea to cause the gentle
reshaping. To learn more about this procedure, visit www.refractec.com ,

Asked Questions About CK .
